tem supports

Friday Harbor, WA, July 25 2008

Luxel Corporation announces the product launch of LUXFilm™ specimen supports for transmission electron microscopy.

Luxel Corporation will launch its new polymer film TEM supports at the Microscopy and Microanalysis EXPO in Albuquerque, NM August 4-7, 2008. Patent pending LUXFilm™ specimen supports provide large, grid-free viewing windows in a strong and stable film support. The supports greatly improve the efficiency and throughput of TEM work by allowing the researcher to view the entire specimen; a significant improvement when looking at large structures, tracing features that appear over long distances in serial sections, searching for details that occur infrequently in the tissue sample, or imaging serial sections of tissues to reconstruct the 3-dimensional aspect of the structure of interest.

Travis Ayers, President and owner of Luxel said “Luxel has developed these unique TEM specimen supports with assistance from the National Institutes of Health Small Business Innovation Research program and over 100 beta testers. We gratefully acknowledge their support and are very excited to bring our decades of experience in freestanding ultrathin films to this market”.

The LUXFilm™ specimen supports will be available through leading microscopy supplies distributors. Six styles are offered – including a 2mm clear aperture “gridless” support - in both copper and nickel. For more information, visit Booth 508 at the Microscopy and Microanalysis EXPO, Albuquerque, NM, August 4-7, 2008. Information is also available by contacting Luxel Corporation, Friday Harbor, WA (360) 378-4137 www.Luxel.com or TEM@Luxel.com.
