TF style frames are two-piece frames of black anodized aluminum, developed to withstand laboratory handling and spacecraft launch loads. |

VF style frames are two-piece frames with outer diameter threads to fit a VAT gate valve. VF frames may be changed in the field, thereby minimizing interruptions to experiments. They are excellent for separating high-vacuum experiments from ultra high-vacuum conditions. VF style frames are a good choice for research on a synchrotron beamline. |

CF or "conflat" style frames are double-sided stainless steel flanges for use in ultra-high vacuum applications. If required, they can be baked to reduce outgassing. |
